The Palais des Nations

The Palais des Nations, the main European headquarters of the UN in Geneva, has been built since 1927. It hosts meetings of international organisations such as the Human Rights Council and is home to more than 40 international organisations and numerous diplomats and specialists committed to a better world.

To mark the 20th anniversary of Switzerland’s membership of the UN, the model palace was inaugurated on 10 September 2022. It was built in nine months using materials such as PVC, Nylon, fibre cement, Plexiglas, artificial turf and acrylic paint. Due to its size and weight, a helicopter had to be used to transport it in three trips from the workshop to the park.
